Catherine Anne O'Hara OOC, born on March 4, 1954, is a Canadian-American actress. O'Hara is the proud recipient of several awards, including the Genie Award. In 2018, she was appointed an Officer of Canada. She was also presented with the Governor General’s Performing Arts Lifetime Artistic Achievement Medal in 2020. O'Hara made her debut as an actress in 1974 when she was part of The Second City, an comedy troupe that improvised located in Toronto. Alongside John Candy and Dan Aykroyd, she was part the main ensemble of the sitcom Coming Up Rosie (1975-1978). O'Hara, Candy, and Dan Aykroyd first began working on Second City Television's sketch comedy program (1976-1984). O'Hara received high praise for her comedy writing and acting skills which earned her a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writer for a Variety Series in 1982. O'Hara was named to the Second City artistic advisory panel in 2022 by Stephen Colbert. Also included were Dwayne Colbert (Steve Carell), Tina Fey and Keegan-Michael Key and Jane Lynch, Tim Meadows.
