Kyra Minturn

 Kyra Minturn Sedgwick (born August 19, 1965) is an American actor, producer and director. She is most famous for her starring role as deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson on the TNT crime drama The Closer. Sedgwick earned a Golden Globe Award in 2007 for her portrayal of Johnson as well as an Emmy Award 2010 for her performance. The show ended on the 13th, 2012 after the conclusion of the seventh season. Sedgwick is also known for her role in the show as Madeline Wuntch, on the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Sedgwick was nominated for an Golden Globe award for her performance in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's film roles include Oliver Stone's Born to the Fourth of July (1989) and Cameron Crowe's singles (1992) The Heart and Souls(93), Phenomenon (1996), What's cooking (2000) as well as Secondhand Lions (2003). The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2012). Sedgwick was the daughter of Patricia Rosenwald who worked as a speech and family therapist, as well as Henry Dwight Sedgwick IV Venture capitalist. She was born in New York City. Her mother was Jewish. Her father was Episcopalian and with English descent. Sedgwick has openly declared her Jewish roots and stated that she takes part in Passover seders.
